Party of 18
taken from Family Life magazine*

Step into Dan and Dena Clorenson's home, and you'll be amazed that it's like no other. The Chancey, California, couple has one thing that sets them apart from most other families. The Clorensons have 16 children, all girls, and they are all their own, no adoption involved. "It's amazing," says Dena, the mother of all 16 children, "to think that just a decade ago, we had only 7 kids--which is still a lot anyway. We had no idea that within 10 years, we'd have 9 more!" Is living with 15 other kids hard? "Does Pavarotti sing?" asks Clarisa, the wisecracker of the group. "Do watches keep time? Is Duscha a baby?" "Hey!" shouts 15-year-old Duscha, which brings another question to mind: how are things when the kids fight? "Generally, they don't," Dena says. "It sounds impossible, but they really are great kids!" And how are you going to pay for college? "Well, with Sheena graduating next year," Dena says, "we really should start thinking about that more. But for now, we're just content living each day as it comes."
